Note: If you are a client with chronic pain, specific needs, or are recovering from an injury, please consider carefully the session length you would prefer. A 60-Minute session can be very effective when used to focus on areas of chronic tension but when these areas are addressed it leaves less time for other parts of the body to be worked on.  If you'd like a full body massage in addition to focus in these particular areas (i.e. back/shoulders/neck) please consider the 90 minute session.  I want to ensure you get the most out of your massage experience while also providing a realistic expectation of what can be accomplished in an hour.

The bodywork provided is an integrative blend of the following Western and Eastern Modalities:

Swedish
Swedish massage is a relaxing and therapeutic modality.  It is characterized by an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading and percussion that are used to increase circulation.  The benefits of this work has a wide range from the relief of aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, increased mental clarity, improved appearance and greater flexibility.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.

Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a very effective deep tissue, hands-on technique that works to address pain or discomfort coming from muscles and connective tissue.  Myofascial therapy is used to 'release' and rebalance the muscles and relieve adhessions of the connective tissue.  These techniques are excellent for injury recovery and the elimination of scar tissue.
